Melissa Powell is a Jamaican entrepreneur, technologist, and global mobility strategist dedicated to people-centric innovation. As the founder and CEO of Pocmi Inc., she leads an HR and immigration technology company that streamlines the movement of high-skilled labor across borders. Pocmi's platform simplifies international hiring, relocation, and integration processes, making global talent acquisition more accessible for companies and professionals alike.

Melissa's commitment to nation-building and economic development inspired her to co-found Block eM Ledger Consulting Group (BEML), which focuses on leveraging emerging technologies, particularly blockchain, to drive sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). Through BEML, she collaborates with institutions in Jamaica to explore how these technologies can fulfill their missions and enhance operational efficiency.

Passionate about reinvigorating the human element in the workplace, Melissa co-founded and co-hosts the InvestHuman podcast, which has reached audiences in over 70 countries. The podcast delves into topics that reignite appreciation for the human aspects of work, fostering environments where people can thrive.

In 2024, Melissa co-produced and hosted the WE-Speak Caribbean podcast series, commissioned by the Caribbean Export Development Agency and UN Women Caribbean, with support from the European Union. This initiative amplifies the voices of Caribbean women in business, highlighting their challenges and successes.

Melissa is a recognized leader and advocate for innovation and diversity. She is a member of the Project Entrepreneur Class of 2018, a Branson Legacy Entrepreneur, and a graduate of the Founder Institute. Her thought leadership has been featured on platforms such as Virgin.com, SiliconCaribe.com, and TheBusinessYear.com.

An active participant in global discussions on the future of work and technology, Melissa contributes to initiatives like Innovation for Jobs (i4j), various women-in-tech and blockchain groups, and digital identity forums. She mentors and advises within these communities, aiming to develop solutions that promote economic and people-centric sustainability.

Melissa holds a Master’s degree in International Business, an MSc in Construction Management, and a BA in Architecture. She has also earned certifications from esteemed institutions, including Harvard Business School (HBS), the IFRS Foundation, and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
