FAQs

1. What is the purpose of the VPB Diaspora Network?

The VPB Diaspora Network exists to unite Builders, Backers, and Believers across the Caribbean diaspora, a global community spanning every continent, to unlock generational growth and impact. By connecting founders, growth operators, investors, and champions, the Network strengthens pathways for:

- Capital → matching ventures with diaspora investors, funders, allies, and philanthropic partners,

- Capacity → equipping founders with growth operators, strategic support, and digital infrastructure,

- Community → mobilizing diaspora leaders, connectors, and institutions to amplify success and open doors globally.

Together, these pathways transform underinvested ventures into scalable enterprises that create wealth, jobs, and lasting impact across the Caribbean and its global diaspora.

2. What funding levels will be in the room?

You can expect a mix of investors across stages, with the majority focused on Pre-seed through Series A. A few later-stage fund managers will also be present to track early-stage founders with strong potential.

3. Are Backers open to MVP-stage conversations, or only revenue-generating companies?

Both. Some Backers are focused on traction and revenue, while others are eager to meet innovative MVP-stage Builders solving big problems worth backing early.

4. Will there be time for pitches, or is it mainly networking?

This is a relationship-first, networking-focused event. However, Builders should come ready with a sharp 1–2 minute pitch for one-on-one conversations.

5. Will VPB provide any advance matching recommendations?

Yes. We’re curating introductions and highlighting investors’ focus areas in advance so Builders can identify who to prioritize connecting with.

6. Are more Backers still being confirmed?

Yes. We are confirming new angels, VCs, and fund managers every week leading up to the event.

7. How should Builders prepare to connect with the right people?

Come prepared with:

- A clear ask (capital, capacity, or connections)

- A concise pitch (your story in 60–90 seconds)

- Awareness of which Backers align with your stage/sector.
- VPB will help facilitate introductions in the room, but proactive networking is key.

8. Will follow-up introductions be supported after the event?

Yes. VPB is building a continuing ecosystem so connections don’t end at the event. Where there’s clear alignment, warm follow-up introductions may be facilitated.

9. Will deal data be shared from VPB Diaspora events?

We’ll track outcomes and share aggregate insights (e.g., deals, follow-on meetings, partnerships). Individual deal terms will remain confidential.

10. Is this a closed or open ecosystem?

Open loop. The Kick-Off is just the start. We are creating multiple entry points for Builders, Backers, and Believers to continue engaging beyond this one event.

11. Will Backers share their typical equity or check ranges in advance?

Where possible, we’ll collect and share general investment parameters (stage, check size, equity range) so Builders can level-set expectations and connect strategically.

12. Is this event relevant for Growth Operators, or just founders raising capital?

Yes. Growth Operators are Builders too. The VPB ecosystem recognizes that scaling ventures requires not only capital, but also operational capacity. If you are a strategist, operator, or specialist who helps ventures grow, this event gives you a chance to:

- Meet founders who may need your expertise,

- Connect with Backers and Believers looking for trusted operators, and

- Explore how to plug into VPB’s “100x10” model where capacity is the new capital.
